Our first video by Gourmet Femme is up and we have been busy preparing for the weeks ahead to bring an array of new recipes, cooking ideas and tasty dishes you can prepare at home, so get ready to love, like and subscribe!

Step by Step: To make our beautiful scones to enjoy morning, noon or night, you will need:

3 cups of flour (Self raising - plain flour is ok but use an extra tsp baking powder)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
4 tablespoons butter or marg
1/2 Raisins
Orange rind or Lemon rind (Optional)
1 tablespoon of marmalade jam :D (also optional)

Combine the flour, baking powder, butter and egg all into a bowl together, add the raisins. Grate orange or lemon rind to taste, optional.

Lightly with your hands, gently fluff and toss the mixture untill the butter is soft and the dough is forming into a slightly sticky ball. Be gentle and light with the mixture at all times.

Flour your worksurface and pull out the dough, kneed slightly and roll out evenly with a rolling pin about 1 inch thick.

Cut out each scone using a cookie cutter or a round glass.

Place scones onto a greased cookie sheet or pan and bake at 350 for around 20-25 mins or untill lightly toasted on top.

Cool for 5 mins and serve with butter, jam or marmalade and cream :)

Enjoy! Now go make another batch experimenting with different flavours, try using grapefruit, strawberry jam or blueberries!
